Up again at 5:00 a.m. so that we could enjoy the sounds of the jungle waking up. Kyle and I had our coffee on the patio and talked about how it feels like we have been here for weeks already. We feel so at home.
Elly and I went for our morning run and Kyle, Ryan and Tristan headed to the beach. Tristan and Kyle ready to catch some waves and Ryan with camera and journal in hand.

Kyle and the kids returned from the beach and showered and we went out shopping for surf boards. It was a nice day, again getting to know our surroundings. Elly can go anywhere - into the consignment shop, into the surf store. She is quite the happy dog!
Our friends, the Brauser family, are coming to visit us in March. We started looking today for places to recommend for them to stay. We are so excited they are coming! Hopefully we will have the inside scoop by then on some of the best places to see and things to do.
Came back to our little abode and the kids did school work, Kyle went out fishing and I piddled around the kitchen. I made pasta with fresh broccoli and tomotoes for dinner. When Kyle returned, we sat at our patio table together to have dinner. Before eating, we thanked God for this incredible opportunity and for the blessing of family and friends.

While Kim and I were having our coffee, both sitting there in focus time writing, the dog jumped up and started to bark, well that scared us pretty good. That was not all that got scared, three raccoon's jumped up into the nearest tree. So cute (i know men are not to be using that word) the mama was leading the way up the tree the little girl was second and the boy decided he wanted to be second so sped up his pace and climbed right over his sister. Now he was closest to mom. BOYS!
Tristan, Ryan and I went to the beach. Ryan taking pictures and writing and Tristan and I trying to catch as many waves as we can. Tristan is learning to surf really fast. Day one all belly rides and near the end a couple of knee rides. Also learning the technique of steering. Much like a bike, start off going straight no turns then learn how to turn when you have more confidence. Well today he decided that it was time to learn how to stand and by the end oh the day he was standing and now he is hooked. What does that mean for me? Well I have someone to surf with and the other side of the coin I have to now look for a used board for him $200-$500.

It was hot in the mid afternoon. So sweating was something you could do just by talking too much. Guess who was doing that. (I know that Bobbie got the right answer). We talked with expats that live here and got a lot more of our questions answered. I will not bore you with them but we are just trying to know our surroundings better. We stopped by the local super market and got a few things that we had forgotten the last time. The kids like guava juice and now have trouble keeping it in stock.
What a great adventure! I hope to come visit you guys when I am next in C.R. Until then, enjoy "coming down" from life in the U.S. and rising with the sun in Costa Rica. Love to you all, Lindsay
